# The final theory (remarks)

I’m not a string theory believer, but I get really mad when someone just says, “That’s not how nature works.” Damn. And do YOU know how it works? I mean, you’re okay with negative infinite mass, virtual particles (which should just be mathematical constructs like other quasiparticles, e.g., phonons in condensed matter), divergences that shouldn’t be real, and renormalizations that are mathematically correct, but still, you don’t question yourself, “WTF is going on here? Why is this bullshit even true?”.
We fine-tuned every modern theory to experimental parameters so much that it is impossible to produce any new physics from what we have now. It is just a long series of poor decisions during the last 50-60 years that led us to “the most accurate theory in the world," yet only explaining what we can only observe and produce with our exciting but still poor (on a bigger scale) technologies. Any step beyond that will lead to inconsequential results.
